Annie Mac’s show the other day had some pretty good tracks on, which I’ll be posting either tomorrow or Tuesday. Including a new Louis La Roche track, but more on that in my next post.

The first track of this post is by LMFAO and features ‘crunk’ artist Lil Jon. I like LMFAO (especially ‘La La La’) as they seem quite different but make some great stuff, though I’m not really sure about this track. Other blogs have called it ‘party track of the year’ etc, and i can see why, its just a bit of a trashy song overall though. Still, its catchy and you may as well listen if you like either artist.

LMFAO feat. Lil Jon – Shots

Secondly a new Herve track called ‘Who Da Champ’. Its a more welcome return than his last song (‘Baseball Bat’, which everyone seemed to hate) and in fact features the melody of ‘The Champ’ by The Mohawks (song made famous by Soccer AM’s ‘Tramp’). Not his best work but its decent, only a 3 minute preview or so but still.

Herve – Who Da Champ

In other news I saw an ad for Little Boots‘ album ‘Hands’ yesterday. Probably signals the start of mainstreamship for her but regardless, hopefully she’ll do well with the album. A bonus track from it called ‘Not Now’ has surfaced and I’m not sure why it wasn’t included on the main release as I reckon it’d be one of the standout tracks. Retro but very good!

Little Boots – Not Now

Now The Qemists‘ ‘Dem Na Like Me’ got a lot of attention in the blog world at the start of the year and its easy to see why. Anyhow yesterday I found a new remix of it, called the ‘VIP Mix’ (I dunno whether this means its by a guy called VIP or what), and its pretty sick. It focuses more on the drum’n'bass aspect than the original and less on the vocals and overall is a sick remix.

The Qemists – Dem Na Like Me (VIP Mix)

Lastly for today I have a couple of remixes of the fantastic P-Money‘s ‘Everything’, which AK posted about not so long ago. The original is amazing and one of my favourites of 2009 also (even though it came out last year in NZ, but still) and these remixes are good also, but not as good as the original. The first one is a rap remix featuring Scribe (who P-Money’s worked with a lot before), and 2 other guys called David Dallas and PNC. Its pretty good overall, everything blends together pretty well. Secondly I have a mash-up of Everything with Deadmau5‘s ‘Ghosts N Stuff’ (which seems to be popular for making mash-ups with!). The original Ghosts N Stuff is sublime, as is Everything, and the 2 fit together in an alright manner, its definitely not one of the worst mashups I’ve heard anyway.

I’m off to football tonight so this post was actually written on Monday, so if I’ve missed any big releases I apologise. I’ll try and cover them later in the week. However, as promised my review on The Qemists album and something else. I don’t know what yet, but I’m sure I’ll find something.

Anyway, as I said yesterday I recently downloaded The Qemists album so I could have a listen. My opinions on the album are sort of mixed. If you’re expecting a Pendulum like album, then you’re wrong. The band is more like Innerpartysystem if you’ve heard of them. The songs are good; the production is really good on them.

However, some of the artists featured arn’t quite to my taste, and on the album it is mostly the featured artists who make the song. Other than “Dem Na Like Me” the album has two standout tracks which will definitely be going onto my playlist. “S.W.A.G.” featuring Zoe Devlin Love is a really good song. I really like the female vocals and they make for a good club track. The other standout song is “Got One Life” which features Navigator. This song is more like “Dem Na Like Me” and if you liked that song, you’re bound to like this. I’ll provide a link to both below so you can have a listen. The rest of the album is good though and I’d definitely recommend it. “The Perfect High” is a very good end to the album. No vocals, just a drum and bass tune.

The Qemists upcoming album is called “Join the Q” and is released on the 1st of February, which is this coming Sunday. You can find the link to buy the album below. It’s £5 for the whole album which is a good price. If you don’t want to buy from 7Digital I’m sure the album will go onto iTunes although the quality is a lot better through the link provided. I really have nothing else to add so, enjoy and PLEASE at least download “Dem Na Like Me” when it comes out in the UK on February 1st.

P.S. I’ve decided that no other songs are blogworthy – Sorry.

Some good music for you today. I’ve started this 3 times now, initially writing “no music” then “decent music” and now, I’m fairly certain that its good music. This feels like a good time to add that I really dislike Crookers on Kid Cudi’s “Day N Nite” – it sounds horrible and not a patch on the original. I do like their work on “Embrace The Martian” but for me Day N Nite sound horrible.

Now I’ve got that off my chest, first songs first. There’s a new Nas track that has been released which was produced by the one and only Kanye West. I didn’t really like his recent production of “Brooklyn Go Hard” with Jay-Z and Santogold, it just annoyed me with the constant vocals in the background. This song, entitled “The World” is seriously amazing though (I rarely use amazing) and I love the production on it. Props to Hypetrack for the link. It’s off the mixtape “Home of the Giants” which you can find a link to below which has a fairly decent track listing – However this is the main highlight off of it by far.

On the Arctic Monkeys front there have been a few videos uploaded to YouTube of their performance in New Zealand earlier this week. Personally, I’m undecided. They all sound a bit slow and the vocals don’t sound as intense as like “Still Take You Home” or “The View from the Afternoon.” Still I’ll post a link to good quality new one below and you can access the recent videos uploaded by clicking here. I’ve only been through the first couple of pages, if you find a killer song somewhere just comment with it.

God I’m really going on over my limit for words in this post. Really, I’d leave it at that but sadly I have used both artists for the banner at the top already so I’ll have to quickly mention someone else. Lastly, an absolutely AMAZING song (caps as well this post) from a group called The Qemists. The song features Wiley and is called “Dem Na Like Me” and you can listen to it on their MySpace. I would link to a download but as they arn’t major, I’d rather they are supported. View their MySpace for more info on obtaining their song, I seriously recommend it. It’s so fresh and just.. wow. Also I leave you with a link to an article which states 95% of all downloaded music in 2009 was illegally download. I find that hard to believe personally…

bz08 recommended on my last.fm this YouTube page with some video of the Arctic Monkeys. The video quality is poor but the sound quality isn’t too bad – you can make out most of the song. Thanks very much for that if you’re reading
