First up today is the mastered version of Taio Cruz‘s single. Big probs to Team Supreme for getting it. Anyway I was going to mention this track regardless since I heard it on the radio the other day. I personally really enjoy the track, it’s an electro/dance track but it is pretty dissimilar from Break Your Heart. Has a massive drop in it as well which is unexpected for Taio. Lyrically, the song isn’t great – I mean singing about a naked photo of someone on your phone – really? Still probably the last I’ll link to off the album, which is released October 12th. I am sure I will be getting a copy – I just love what he’s been putting out recently and his previous album was also very good. Anyway, the track features Ke$ha of Right Round fame who have some autotune parts and some other minor roles. Anyway, big track. Check it out below.

Taio Cruz – Dirty Picture (Feat. Ke$ha)

Rokstarr is out October 12th and looks set to be brilliant. Pre-Order a copy here.

The only other song I have to post today is a mash-up job I guess done by Don Diablo. It’s seriously good though and I love the way all the artists styles have been made to fit so well together. The production is great on it, the sampling is really good from the Phoenix track, Fences, and the work done by Don Diablo to blend them together seemlessly with some slick production. Jay-Z’s rapping from 99 Problems is then put on top and slightly sped up, but it still sounds good and just manages to fit. It’s a really good piece from Don Diablo – check it out below.

Annie Mac’s show the other day had some pretty good tracks on, which I’ll be posting either tomorrow or Tuesday. Including a new Louis La Roche track, but more on that in my next post.

The first track of this post is by LMFAO and features ‘crunk’ artist Lil Jon. I like LMFAO (especially ‘La La La’) as they seem quite different but make some great stuff, though I’m not really sure about this track. Other blogs have called it ‘party track of the year’ etc, and i can see why, its just a bit of a trashy song overall though. Still, its catchy and you may as well listen if you like either artist.

LMFAO feat. Lil Jon – Shots

Secondly a new Herve track called ‘Who Da Champ’. Its a more welcome return than his last song (‘Baseball Bat’, which everyone seemed to hate) and in fact features the melody of ‘The Champ’ by The Mohawks (song made famous by Soccer AM’s ‘Tramp’). Not his best work but its decent, only a 3 minute preview or so but still.

Herve – Who Da Champ

In other news I saw an ad for Little Boots‘ album ‘Hands’ yesterday. Probably signals the start of mainstreamship for her but regardless, hopefully she’ll do well with the album. A bonus track from it called ‘Not Now’ has surfaced and I’m not sure why it wasn’t included on the main release as I reckon it’d be one of the standout tracks. Retro but very good!

Little Boots – Not Now

Now The Qemists‘ ‘Dem Na Like Me’ got a lot of attention in the blog world at the start of the year and its easy to see why. Anyhow yesterday I found a new remix of it, called the ‘VIP Mix’ (I dunno whether this means its by a guy called VIP or what), and its pretty sick. It focuses more on the drum’n'bass aspect than the original and less on the vocals and overall is a sick remix.

The Qemists – Dem Na Like Me (VIP Mix)

Lastly for today I have a couple of remixes of the fantastic P-Money‘s ‘Everything’, which AK posted about not so long ago. The original is amazing and one of my favourites of 2009 also (even though it came out last year in NZ, but still) and these remixes are good also, but not as good as the original. The first one is a rap remix featuring Scribe (who P-Money’s worked with a lot before), and 2 other guys called David Dallas and PNC. Its pretty good overall, everything blends together pretty well. Secondly I have a mash-up of Everything with Deadmau5‘s ‘Ghosts N Stuff’ (which seems to be popular for making mash-ups with!). The original Ghosts N Stuff is sublime, as is Everything, and the 2 fit together in an alright manner, its definitely not one of the worst mashups I’ve heard anyway.

Well I’d thought ‘Day N Nite’ and all the remixes/versions that went with it were long gone but apparently not. Favourite rapper of mine K’naan has done a version called ‘Dayless Nite’ and raps about pirates and other such matters. Nothing amazing but more about the lyrics than the song I feel. And it sounds like he has a cold haha.

Santigold (yes, we all preferred Santogold) has also had a new track leaked called ‘Anne’s Plan’ and features good friend of Mr Cudi, Chip Tha Ripper. Not a bad track, nothing as good as on her debut album though I reckon. I do like the rapping quite a bit though, impressed me more than on Cudi’s mixtape last summer.

Last Friday as well as the original ‘Remedy’ by Little Boots being played, Annie Mac also played Rusko‘s remix of it. Unfortunately the radio-rip is all I’ve got but its pretty good anyway, keeps the start of the original before dropping into the dubstep.

Lastly I have a mash-up for you all. I’d say about 85% of mashups are just crap, this though is not at all. And its a surprising mix. Jason Mraz‘s ‘I’m Yours’ vs the legendary Shaggy‘s ‘It Wasn’t Me’. I don’t even have the original ‘I’m Yours’ but I don’t really want it either, specially not after this mash-up!
