Yesterday’s post on Example’s new song included the Joker & Ginz and Fred Falke remixes, the latter of which being my favourite of the two. Anyhow, more remixes are also about, specifically those of drumnbass mastermind Blame and someone else called Moam (often mislabelled as Moon). Weird name but great remix, very progressive sound to it and great use of piano. Tiesto included it on his Clublife Podcast a few days ago. And Blame remix is great as you’d expect.

Falke’s remixes of late have been of much better quality than a few months ago I’ve found, and this new one of La Roux’s Bulletproof is no different. Song’s old and there’ve been plenty of remixes but they seem to keep coming out. This is definitely one of the better ones though.

And finally some new VIKING. We haven’t posted on him in a while but its good to see some more of him, his OnCue & Cudi remixes especially have been great. This time its of Cut Copy’s ‘Hearts On Fire’, one of their more well-known songs. I do like Cut Copy but I always find the vocals a bit depressing. But yeah, nice electro remix.

Oh and also a fantastic cover of ‘Hot N Cold’ by Kid British. Not into them much but this is a gorgeous reggae-like version, really great cover.

Example has been one of my favourite rappers for quite some time. Even in some of my earlier posts on TTS, I have expressed my liking for this guy. He is miles better than half of the stuff we hear today and has possibly had the most blogged about tune of ’09 so far with Hooligans. That shit was huge.

His latest offering ‘When the Sun Comes Up’ is slowly and surely becoming a summer time hit. It’s alot different from Hooligans, it hasn’t got Don Diablo on the buttons which means none of the hard electro sounds he brings. Instead, its more relaxed, more summery. I think this cut could be bigger than Hooligans. I think this shit is wicked. Ensure you get this.

Oh and like most Example tracks, a whole host of remixes surface soon after it drops. Fred Falke and TrueToSound favourites Joker & Ginz have done their work on the track. Personally, Fred Falke does a good job I think the J&G is sheer quality. Seriously, get all three of these today. Example has a top ten here, easy.

None of these tracks are new, but they’re new to me. I haven’t caught on to the drum’n'bass craze yet so don’t know too much about it, but these two artists, Spor and Noisia, are both pretty decent. Both of these tracks are off fabriclive.40 which is a very good CD to get for anyone who, like me, needs a quick introduction to d’n'b that doesn’t revolve around Pendulum.

Another oldie-but-a-goodie is the Fred Falke track off of his 2008 EP Me and My Friends called Last Wave, this version is only a short one, the EP version is 9 minutes long, although there’s no added perks, everything in the short version is in the long version. The beat is like marmite, you’ll either love it and think it’s really funky, or hate it and think it’s annoying as hell, I think the former.

Deadmau5 – Failbait → Newest track (well, its about a month old), again not his melodic style, more his experimental ‘Get Scrapped’ style of track, which as you may know, I don’t like anywhere near as much as his melodic stuff. Worth a listen though. Listen on Zippyshare

Deadmau5 vs. Stardust- Music Sounds Better With Ghosts N Stuff → normally mashups are pretty dire but this isn’t that bad as far as one goes, I in fact quite like it. Listen on Zshare

La Roux- Bulletproof (Zinc Remix) → been on Annie Mac’s show for a while now, only just bothered looking for an mp3. Had to rip from Youtube so its just an HQ radio rip I’m afraid. Very good remix though.. Listen on Mediafire

De Grote Vinnie, Donnie & Sjakie Show – Day N Nite (Acapella) → recently played by Soulwax, bit weird but an interesting take on the hit. Listen on Zshare

Royksopp – Were You Ever Wanted (feat. Lykke Li) → the Japanese bonus track from Junior, not as good as Miss It So Much. Bit cheesy, its ok though. Listen on Megaupload

Royksopp – The Girl And The Robot feat. Robyn (Kris Menace First Remix) → the original has grown on me so much lately, its a brilliant track. Grum – Sound Reaction (Original Mix) → wasn’t overly keen on Grum after hearing his remix of AVH’s You Don’t Even Know Me, but this is his latest track and its fantastic.. properly gets going around 1:20 or so. Great electro! Listen on Zshare

Bad Boy Bill – Falling Anthem (Herves We Are A Beautiful Disaster Remix) (Instrumental) ♥ → this barely even sounds like a Herve remix, it gets better every time I listen to it. Amazing remix, has a huge progressive house sound, reminiscent to the Mau5! Listen on Mediafire

The Gossip – Heavy Cross (Fred Falke Remix) → I prefer the original though this is a really different take on it, quite nice I feel. Listen on Zshare

Phoenix – Lisztomania (Alex Metric Remix) → the best remix I’ve heard from anyone of a Phoenix track, very nice! Listen on Mediafire

Those of you who know BT (artist, not British Telecoms!) will know he’s one of the most well-respected and pioneering members of electronica and trance. He was especially popular in the late 90′s, but his 2006 album/DVD ‘This Binary Universe’ is for me probably one of the most beautiful albums of all time.

Anyway, his upcoming 2009 album has been said to have a track featuring Christian Burns and a whole 12 seconds (<.<) of the track was released not so long ago, but as of yet the rest of the track hasn’t leaked. A remix by a guy called Dave Darell has though and I LOVE it. The synths are amazing and the kind of minimal electro sound reminds me of someone, I can’t think who though. Vaguely like DatA anyway. The build-up to about 1:50 is amazing.  The vocals compliment it incredibly well though, Burns’ rough but brilliant voice first came to my attention on Tiesto‘s 2007 track In The Dark, as well as his featuring on Benny Benassi‘s Love and Motion, the former of which being a brilliant trance piece I feel.

I also looked up this Darell guy a bit more and found his version of Robert Miles‘ trance classic Children. Its not as ‘beautiful’ but the rough electro chorus melody reminds me somewhat of Infinity 2008, so its worth a listen as well.

The King Blues – Bonkers (Dizzee Rascal and Armand Van Helden Cover) → a cover by the underground punk outfit. Never heard of them before but I love this, I’d put it on a par with the original! Even though there arne’t any AVH sounds the guitar is excellent. Listen on Zshare

Was looking at the charts the other day and saw that I Love College, by a guy called Asher Roth, was doing pretty well (22 on the Billboard Hot 100 if I remember correctly?). I’d known about it for a while but never really bothered Youtubing it or whatever, but this time I thought I may as well. And I’m so glad I did, its an absolutely epic track. I mean, first and foremost this guy is white, and in recent years white hip-hop hasn’t done too well with the (until recent) demise of Eminem and so on. But yeah,it seems like this guy could be changing all that, and I hope he does.

The track in question is just really laid-back, really nice, with an almost country-like back-beat which just compliments his voice really well. Lyrics are very enjoyable too, and with only just over a month to go till his debut album ‘Asleep in the Bread Aisle’ is released it looks to be a good time for the rap industry. Notable guests on it include Cee-Lo (Goodie Mob, Gnarls Barkley) and Ludacris.

Onto last night’s Annie Mac/Pete Tong, I’ve had a look through the tracklistings and nothing that major jumped out at me. On Pete Tong’s, I did catch a bit of Nu Frequency feat. Snax – Passage Of Time (Freeform Five Remix) though, which sounded brilliant, so as soon as I find an mp3 to that I’ll let you all know. Annie Mac had some better tunes on, including one by Louis La Roché!, and a minmix by Beyond The Wizard’s Sleeve.

Filthy Dukes are an electro-rock/synth-pop trio from London who formed in 2005. I first heard of them when I saw Tupac Robot Club Rock on TV, I think it may’ve been MTV Dance, in about Novemember of last year. It was one of those weird cases where it’d been on TV but not really hit the internet as of then, though now they’re gaining a lot more press on the internet than previously. TRCR features vocals from fellow Londoners Plastic Little, and to be fair its quite a good tune, the production anyway. The vocals are kind of cheesy but fit it quite well I guess, but I was quite sceptical nonetheless after hearing it.

So, fast-forward a few months and their latest single This Rhythm is about to be released, and its a really good track. The vocals this time are done by Late of the Pier‘s lead man Samuel Eastgate. You can see the similarities between the two groups, though I’d describe LOTP as ‘darker’ or ‘messier’. Still, the vocals on this are really nice and its a brilliant track which leaves me looking forward to their upcoming album ‘Nonsense In The Dark’, which is set to be released later this month.  Also included below is French genius Fred Falke‘s remix of This Rhythm, which gives the track a lighter feel and is absolutely fantastic, as per usual.

Oh and I’m also including a new Daft Punk track – well not technically new – but its a 2009 version of the legendary Around the World, mixed in with the equally legendary Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. And oh my is it good. I’d even go so far as saying its better than both the originals. Blasphemy? I dunno, but I love it.
