Post two from me.  I’m going in big some fresh new Jack Beats. At the start of my second year of University – I had a list of DJs/Producers I wanted to see.  Jack Beats and Fake Blood were on the list.  I can tick Jack Beats after Beni smashed his set, even though he was ill!

I know there was a lot of hype over whether this tune would make the cut in the musical world. I’ve heard it live and I’ve heard it in full but even I don’t have the 320 to it… easily makes the cut!

Here’s a bit of plugging, from me now.  I caught up with Beni a few weeks ago to interview him for my Uni radio show, The Soundclash.  It goes out every Friday night from 9.30 pm.  This week we’ve got a 25-minute interview with Will and Saul, none other than Chase & Status. The advantage of doing a Uni radio show is that I get the chance to catch up with some musical legends and people I know this blog loves! Here’s what Beni had to say about Jack Beats remixing Mars:

“We just kept it faithful, for once, and decided to do it very much as a tribute to the great dance record that it is. We just did it in our style, worked on some ideas and the one we finalised came out really well.

We kept it our side of the dancefloor as it’s one of the biggest club records and basically impossible to think about remixing. Hopefully we’ve done a good job!”

Sorry it’s not 320, as soon as it does drop, I’m spending my dolla on it – you should do the same.

Fake Blood – Mars (Jack Beats Remix)

Next up, another Jack Beats Remix.  I suppose it’s a decent time to post this as I know Passion Pit are touring the UK as I write this. When Kissy Sell Out (I think it was) dropped this I was unsure… It didn’t stand out in their Guest Mix whereas when I first heard Mars remix, I was like ‘Wow, mega!’

It’s gaining widespread play on Radio 1 though – heard Pete Tong play it last Friday and I guess it’s starting to grow on me.  I imagine I’ll love when, like Mars, the 320s drop so I can blast it on some big speakers.
