With his latest album, ‘The Blueprint 3′ set to drop in the early stages of September, the mighty Jay-Z is looking to produce some of his magic and show the world that he’s still got it. The first official single from the highly anticipated album is entitled, Run This Town and features both Kanye West and Rihanna. Damn, I know… Not only does it look good on paper, the trio deliver what has to be, in my opinion, one of the tracks of ’09. With Rihanna on the hook and both Hov and ‘Ye going hard, this track is a must listen!

Next up is an artist that not many people have heard of right now, but don’t worry. Having recently signed to Roc Nation – Jay-Z’s new record label – it’s only a matter of time people get to know J. Cole. With recent comparisons to the likes of Lupe Fiasco, and his second official mixtape, ‘The Warm Up’ being considered a success, life is looking good for the rapper. Lights Please was probably the best track on the mixtape and was the one that actully caught the attention of Jay-Z. The mastered version wasn’t actually supposed to drop yet but here it is anyway…

To finish off i’ll enlighten you with some live hip-hop from none other than the legendary Roots crew. Props to Dallaspenn for this one.
