First song up today is a new Don Diablo remix of Mika’s new song “We Are Golden.” I have no idea what the original sounds like, however I can tell you it’s the first single off his new album and is released on 7th September. The artwork (link) is also very nice, but reminiscent of those of the singles from his first album. Anyway, the remix. For large sections it’s instrumental like most of Don Diablo’s remixes, however every now and again the vocals will come in with Mika’s whispering voice gradually building up to a drop and then an instrumental phase. There’s some nice synths and a good drum beat in there though which make for a good remix overall. His next remix though will be of a new Cassius single which I am looking forward to more.

We Are Golden is released September 21st. Pre-Order Here

Next song up will probably be the last I’ll post from David Guetta‘s upcoming album “One Love” seeing as we’ve posted tonnes of versions/remixes of his previous single “When Love Takes Over,” which got to #1 here in the UK.  This album looks set to be his most successful yet and also has some big guests featuring on it. I’m looking forward to “Missing You No More” with Novel and the two tracks featuring the Black Eyed Peas, whose last album I really enjoyed. Anyway the latest single to have surfaced is “Sexy Bitch” featuring Akon. Being totally honest, I think Akons features of late have been pretty average. I especially didn’t like his part on Flo Rida’s “Available.” This song is quite catchy though and has grown on me during the 3 plays I’ve had this morning. The chorus is very catchy and has some nice production from Guetta. The few seconds where Akon sings in an unusually low voice don’t really work for me but the rest is quite nice. It’s pop, so if you loved Guetta’s electro you may hate this. I personally like it though.

One Love Is released on August 24th. Pre-Order Here.

I always like it when we get sent amateur hip-hop as most of the time, it’s really good to listen to and features some really nice production. D.Julien is no different. When I opened his e-mail there were two samplers and link to download the whole EP, so I started by listening to the samplers. The first was “Absolute Perfection” which featured a soul singer in the background, which is always bound to win me over. The production is very good though, sort of more old school hip-hop. The rapping is also of a good standard and the whole song just sounds really good. The other sampler was “Baby it’s Over” which raps about the rapper’s break up from his girlfriend. Again the production is pretty impressive and it all just flows really well. The best part? The record is actually free. Check it out below.

That David Guetta track is immense! Akon is actually pretty good in it but the beat is what really makes the track, its insane.
