Rex The Dog & Wolfgang Gartner Remixes

Ashes look like they’re Australia’s so that’s my sport viewing for the weekend ruined. I need the football season to start up again or something like that. Or I need the weather to be summery so I can play sport myself. Anyway, music.

First song today is a remix of Fever Ray’s “Triangle Walks” by Rex The Dog. In case you didn’t know, Fever Ray is the alias of the lead singer of Swedish electro group The Knife. I have never heard her debut album though, although maybe I should of based on this. Anyway the remix as I said, is by Rex The Dog and is very impressive. The original was nice, but this remix with it’s louder synths and heavier drum beat make it very impressive. The single is released on the 20th July I believe. However amongst the remixes listed, the Rex The Dog one doesn’t seem to be included. I’ll leave a link to Amazon for those interested though.

I normally start with music news but I forgot today. You can catch a radio rip of Jade Ewen’s (of Eurovision fame) new song here. I’m actually pretty impressed, although I love anything with a catchy synth throughout, hence why I loved The Saturday’s “Work.” Jade could have a career ahead of her though, which is a change considering the post-Eurovision careers of recent UK entries.

There’s also a new remix of MSTRKRFT’s Heartbreaker, which has been done by Wolfgang Gartner. I quite like the original personally although I have heard from some MSTRKRFT fans that it is awful. Judge for yourself, however this remix has a few nice elements which have been added to it a nice bassier element. Check it out below. The single is out on the 27th July, although the remix appears to be out on the 26th.
