Well I won’t bother with the news about MJ as I’m sure everyone will be aware.. so straight onto the music.
Firstly, Axwell‘s remix of TV Rock‘s ‘In The Air’. Gorgeous track, sublime vocals from Rudy, and a great beat, one of the biggest tracks of the summer already. Huge.

Secondly, new Boy 8-Bit. Its from his new ‘Baltic Pines’ EP, which I’m gonna listen to soon. Its called ‘A City Under Siege’ and you can see why, it utilises some melody which you’d associate with some medieval film, but it puts a really nice modern twist on it. Cheers to LAFriendly.

Thirdly, new The Very Best!!! Their mixtape from last year was my favourite album of 2008 and I really can’t wait for their upcoming album. THeir music is so summery and feel good, a few weeks ago I listened to their mixtape for the first time in ages and forgot how amazing it was. Anyhow, this new song has the same name as the album, ‘Warm Heart of Africa’, and features Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend. I don’t like VW’s work at all (bar The Very Best’s take on ‘Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa’) but this is pretty good, his vocals fit well and its the usual tropical dancey feel to the rest of the song, with the excellent as per usual vocals from Esau.

And finally a new Alex Gaudino remix of Armin Van Buuren’s ‘Never Say Never’. The original was good, and a lot more melodic, but this makes it a lot more club-friendly. Sounds a bit like Klaas but better.
