Quite alot of stuff to post today.

First up a single of MGMT’s forthcoming album Congratulations which is scheduled to drop on April 13. No singles are being released from the album so you’re gonna have to click here to get yourself that. I like it when artists take time to make their album artwork look good. This one is a good example. Oracular Spectacular was amazing, I hope this is too.

Next up, new N-Dubz. I’m not gonna lie, their sophomore album, Against All Odds is pretty good. I cant be bothered to outline their recent ‘beef’ with Lethal Bizzle but their twitter states that they may be signed to USA Def Jam as early as next week. Not bad at all. As I’m sure you’re aware, Lil Wayne has finally gone into jail after a couple weeks of delays. Alot of talk has been brewing about who is gonna carry Young Money whilst he’s gone. Young Money assure us that we’re going to see plenty of Weezy whilst he’s inside, he was rumoured to have shot 30 music videos in the time before he went in ensure everything was in place for his incarceration. Drake’s lead single of his eagerly anitcipated ‘Thank Me Later’ landed a few days back, check that here, and the sexy Nicki Minaj has been featuring on several tracks lately to bolster their prominent position in todays hip-hop game. Recently, their new video landed to ‘Roger That’. A tune that only features Wayne, Tyga and Nicki; but still a very good video nonetheless.

Cant wait for that Carter IV.

Pendulum’s new track, ‘Watercolour’, received it’s first airplay on Zane Lowe’s show last night, after a month or so of first being played during a set at Matter. I really like this personally. It’s exactly what you’d expect from Pendulum to be honest, the loud bass (which I’m sure will be bigger on the final track), the classic synths and the almost shouted and processed vocals. It’s nothing especially fresh but it’s as good as always, and they remain one of the few bringing Drum n Bass to the masses. Check out a preview below.

I don’t know why but Gorillaz’s new album has totally passed me by without too much of a second thought. I listened to it but just wasn’t grabbed. It may be one of those albums I look back on in a few years and think “damn, I should have listened to that.” Stylo, the albums first single, has been remixed by Labrinth and features Tinie Tempah, and the results sound great. The remix isn’t the newest, but it’s been posted quite a lot in response to Tinie Tempah claiming the #1 spot yesterday. This song is seriously great though, love the electro beats and 8 bit sounds. It actually reminds me quite a bit of the production on Pass Out if I’m totally honest.

I’ve had so much to post today but I think this’ll be the last of it. Couple of good electro tracks here, although both have flaws if I’m totally honest, which I’ll get to when I discuss them in a minute. Only news I’ve read is that Katy Perry is appearing in the new Smurfs film, leading The Sun to use the same joke about a blue movie for throughout their entire article.

More news, Russell Lissack, lead guitarist of Bloc Party fame, is set to release his debut album in new side project ‘Pin me Down’ – and based on the samples on MySpace it’s Bloc Party of the old with a female singer. Can’t wait for that, the album will be released April 19th.

On to music, the first new track is from Akon and is produced by his new best friend David Guetta, and is called ‘Party Animal’. The production is quite good on this,a nd I’m actually looking forward to this album from Akon. Shamefully though, there were a few songs I enjoyed off the last album so that’s nothing new. Good production from Guetta, some house vibes towards the chorus however, the chorus seems kind of lacking from Akon. Enjoyable though, although the “sexy and you know it” bit ruins the flow for me. The other new track is from Crookers and features Will.I.Am and is called ‘Let’s Get Beezy’. There’s also a track featuring Pitbull but I don’t like it, Pitbull just doesn’t fit with the track at all. Will has been collabing on a few dance tracks recently, obviously with the Peas whole direction which is bordering on dance as well as with Steve Aoki. I really like both of these, and this is no different. I really like the production from Crookers and the rapping from Will.I.Am works. Love the chorus as well, good track.

Analysis over, it’s ok. Better than I was expecting if I’m totally honest, and quite upbeat and radio friendly. I think it’s an SK single which will also be appearing on Bieber’s album, preview it below.

The autotune on Bieber’s vocals is really starting to annoy me actually.
