Well done Taio! I just saw the video so thought I’d check the chart to see where he is, and he’s only gone in at #1! Great news, looks like they’re really liking the track, and with good reason. It was without doubt one of my favourite tracks of 2009 and I’m glad it’s done so well for him.
Some say they’re weird. I think this video is jokes. Cant knock them for creativity.
Plastic Beach is out now.
If you can look past that herpes shit on his cheeks, you’ll realise that this is pretty damn good. Freestylin’ too apparently.
Dope shit.
What happens when you combine a singer who relies heavily on autotune, a singer who relies on his prepubescent voice and put them over a beat by Benny Blanco? Well, relatively decent results. On the plus side I’m a fan of the production, Blanco is great at doing those big mainstream numbers. Secondly the chorus is quite catchy. On the down side the lyrics are weak, catchy but weak. Also Bieber’s voice is overly processed and of course, Kingston’s is as well. Kingston doesn’t really suffer from this but Bieber’s vocals seem a bit weak as a result.
Analysis over, it’s ok. Better than I was expecting if I’m totally honest, and quite upbeat and radio friendly. I think it’s an SK single which will also be appearing on Bieber’s album, preview it below.
The autotune on Bieber’s vocals is really starting to annoy me actually.
NPR Music have got an exclusive stream of the album on their website. If you’ve got an hour to spare, give it a listen, I’ve just started now and I’m already excited as hell because I’ve heard Snoop Dogg less than a minute into it.
GORILLAZ – PLASTIC BEACH thanks to NPR
The radio rip is of Chipmunk’s upcoming track called ‘Until You Were Gone.’ It sounds a bit like he’s trying to create another ‘Oopsy Daisy’ – the break up and the reflection, the big female chorus. The only thing is there’s something about this track I prefer. I’m glad he hasn’t decided to release a track with autotuned vocals.
If only Ludas part was a little long and fitted with the track a little more. Still, I guess it needs a big feature state-side. Shame really but, ah well – still got that same great instrumental.
